Frequently Asked Questions

  • Surf ski paddling is a water sport that involves using a specialized type of kayak, known as a surf ski, to navigate through the water. A surf ski is a long, narrow, sit-on-top kayak that is designed for speed and performance in open water conditions, such as ocean swells and waves.

The paddler sits on top of the surf ski and propels themselves forward using a double-bladed paddle. The paddling technique is similar to that of traditional kayaking, but with some modifications to accommodate the unique design and characteristics of the surf ski.

Surf ski paddling requires a combination of paddling skills, balance, and wave-riding ability. It is often practiced in coastal areas with favourable conditions for waves and swells, although it can also be enjoyed on lakes. The sport provides an exhilarating and challenging experience for those who enjoy being on the water and seeking adventure.

  • Surf ski paddling is widely accessible to people of virtually all ages and brings numerous health benefits. Paddling provides a complete body workout, increasing both cardiovascular fitness and overall muscle strength, while specifically improving core strength, posture and balance.

Being on the water, among the elements (and at times the dolphins), enjoying the company of friends and colleagues, in a spirit of friendly competition, is an exhilarating experience matched by few other sports. The resultant sense of well-being is undoubtedly more than physical, extending to the psychological and emotional realms as well.
